In a groundbreaking fusion of speed and sea, NASCAR has announced the upcoming release of a new documentary filmed aboard an Azamara cruise ship, offering fans an exclusive, behind-the-scenes look at the sport from an entirely new perspective. Titled “Racing Beyond the Track: NASCAR at Sea,” the documentary is set to debut later this year across major streaming platforms and NASCAR’s own digital channels.
The project captures a unique voyage known as the “NASCAR Cruise,” where fans, current drivers, and legendary figures from the sport embarked on a luxury journey with Azamara through the Caribbean. The week-long cruise included interactive fan experiences, racing-themed events, panel discussions, and one-on-one interviews, all set against the backdrop of the open ocean.
This collaboration with Azamara marks NASCAR’s continued efforts to innovate and deepen fan engagement by bringing the racing experience beyond the confines of the track. The documentary aims to highlight personal stories, explore NASCAR’s rich history, and showcase the strong bond between drivers and their passionate supporters.
“We’re always looking for new ways to connect with our fans,” said Steve Phelps, President of NASCAR. “This cruise wasn’t just a vacation—it was a celebration of everything NASCAR stands for. We’re excited to share that experience with a wider audience.”
Azamara, known for its immersive travel experiences, echoed the excitement. “Hosting NASCAR on our ship brought an electric atmosphere onboard. It was a thrilling fusion of culture, sport, and community,” said Azamara CEO Carol Cabezas.
With the documentary’s release on the horizon, both racing fans and travel enthusiasts have something to look forward to—a rare blend of adrenaline and adventure, all at sea.
