BREAKING NEWS: Vancouver Canucks goalie named top NHL trade target ahead of the OFFSEASON.. Read more

In a developing story that’s sending shockwaves through the NHL, Vancouver Canucks goaltender Thatcher Demko has been named one of the top trade targets heading into the 2025 offseason. Despite a strong campaign that helped push the Canucks deep into the playoffs, speculation is intensifying that Vancouver may entertain offers for their star netminder as they look to retool their roster for a deeper Cup run.

Demko, 29, posted stellar numbers throughout the regular season, including a .918 save percentage and a 2.45 goals-against average. However, ongoing injury concerns and a desire for greater roster flexibility have reportedly led Canucks management to consider his trade value. With several teams—such as the New Jersey Devils, Ottawa Senators, and Detroit Red Wings—in desperate need of a proven starting goaltender, Demko’s name has quickly risen to the top of many insiders’ lists.

Sources close to the situation suggest that the Canucks are not actively shopping Demko, but would listen to “hockey trades” that bring back significant assets, potentially including a top-six forward or a high-end prospect. As offseason talks heat up, all eyes will be on Vancouver’s front office in the coming weeks.
