In a remarkable act of compassion and community leadership, Seattle Mariners catcher Cal Raleigh has announced a $7.5 million personal investment to transform a historic property into a state-of-the-art shelter for homeless youth in the Seattle area. Raleigh, just 27 and already emerging as one of MLB’s top young stars, revealed his plans during a press conference held near the property site. The facility, named “Raleigh House of Hope,” will offer shelter, meals, counseling services, and educational support to young people facing homelessness.
