
The University of Oklahoma has solidified its commitment to softball coach Patty Gasso by approving a new contract that extends her tenure through the 2028 season. This agreement will provide Gasso with an average annual salary of $2.05 million, excluding potential performance bonuses.
Gasso, who has been at the helm since 1995, has transformed the Sooners into a dominant force in collegiate softball. Under her leadership, the team has secured eight Women’s College World Series titles, including an impressive streak of four consecutive championships. Her overall record stands at 1,515-352-2, reflecting her sustained excellence over three decades.
This new contract not only recognizes Gasso’s unparalleled success but also reinforces the university’s dedication to maintaining a premier softball program. In addition to Gasso’s compensation, her associate head coaches, Jen Rocha and JT Gasso, will each receive salaries of $300,000, ensuring that the entire coaching staff is rewarded for their contributions to the team’s achievements.
As Gasso approaches her 31st season with Oklahoma in 2025, this contract extension underscores the university’s confidence in her leadership and the continued prominence of the Sooners in collegiate softball.
