The University of Oklahoma’s softball team has secured a significant addition to their roster with the signing of Allyssa Parker, a versatile right-handed pitcher from Pocola, Oklahoma. Parker’s impressive high school career includes being named the 2024 Gatorade Oklahoma Player of the Year and earning multiple MVP honors. She has demonstrated her athleticism not only on the softball field but also by leading her basketball team to a state title.ย

Head coach Patty Gasso expressed high praise for Parker, stating, “Allyssa is the most versatile athlete of this 2025 class. She can do it all. She will find time on the mound, is a talented shortstop, and she caps it off by being an elite, powerful hitter.” Gasso further compared Parker’s potential impact to that of former Sooner standout Keilani Ricketts.

This signing comes at a pivotal time for the Sooners, who are undergoing a roster transformation following the departure of several key players from their four consecutive national championship runs. Parker’s arrival, alongside other top recruits and transfers, is expected to bolster the team’s competitiveness in the upcoming season.

With Parker’s multifaceted skills and Gasso’s strategic vision, Oklahoma softball aims to maintain its elite status and continue its legacy of excellence.
