In a surprising turn of events, two-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Kyle Busch has announced he will retire from full-time Cup Series competition following the conclusion of the 2025 season. The 39-year-old veteran, known for his aggressive style and record-breaking performances, revealed his plans in a press conference earlier today.
Busch, who has amassed over 60 career Cup wins and remains one of the most polarizing and talented figures in the sport, said the decision was driven by a desire to spend more time with his family and return to his racing roots. He also confirmed that he will transition to the NASCAR Xfinity Series full-time in 2026, driving for his own team, Kyle Busch Motorsports (KBM), which will expand its presence in the series.
“I’m not done racing, just changing lanes,” Busch said. “The Xfinity Series gives me a chance to stay competitive while focusing on developing talent and enjoying the sport in a different way.”
Busch holds the all-time record for Xfinity Series wins, and fans can expect him to remain a dominant force as he embarks on this new chapter.
