Kentucky Wildcats guard Kerr Kriisa will miss the remainder of the season due to a foot injury sustained on December 7, 2024, during a game against Gonzaga. Head coach Mark Pope confirmed that Kriisa’s recovery has been slower than anticipated, stating, “It’s been a stubborn healing process, and he just hasn’t reached the required milestones.”
Prior to his injury, Kriisa played in nine games, averaging 4.4 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 3.8 assists per game. Despite shooting 27.9% from the field and 26.3% from three-point range, he was a valuable playmaker, ranking second on the team in assists.
Kriisa is eligible for a medical redshirt, allowing him to return for the 2025-26 season. This eligibility influenced his absence from Kentucky’s recent senior night ceremony, as his future with the team remains undecided.
Throughout his recovery, Kriisa has remained engaged with the team, providing energy and leadership from the sidelines. His potential return next season could offer the Wildcats a seasoned presence in their backcourt.
