The Kentucky Wildcats are set to face the Oklahoma Sooners in their opening game of the 2025 Southeastern Conference (SEC) Men’s Basketball Tournament. The matchup is scheduled for Thursday night at approximately 9:30 PM ET at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee.

Kentucky, holding a 21-10 overall record, enters the tournament aiming to enhance their NCAA Tournament seeding. Currently projected as a 3-seed, a strong performance in the SEC Tournament could solidify or improve this position, while an early exit might result in a drop to a 4-seed.

Oklahoma, with a 20-12 record, secured their spot against Kentucky by defeating Georgia 81-75 in the first round. Freshman guard Jeremiah Fears delivered a standout performance, scoring 29 points and leading a pivotal 16-0 run that shifted the game’s momentum.

This game marks the second meeting between the two teams this season. In their previous encounter on February 26, Kentucky edged out a narrow 83-82 victory. Former Sooner Otega Oweh was instrumental in that win, scoring a career-high 28 points, including the game-winning shot in the final seconds.

The winner of this matchup will advance to the quarterfinals to face the Alabama Crimson Tide.
