
Under the leadership of Coach Mark Pope, the Kentucky Wildcats are actively pursuing key players in the transfer portal to enhance their roster for the upcoming season. The top three targets are:
1. Dedan Thomas Jr. (Point Guard, UNLV): A 6-1 playmaker, Thomas averaged 15.6 points, 4.7 assists, and 2.0 rebounds per game as a sophomore at UNLV. He earned Third Team All-Mountain West honors and is considered the top-ranked transfer, with Kentucky among several programs vying for his commitment.
2. Chaz Lanier (Guard, North Florida): In his fourth season at North Florida, Lanier averaged 19.7 points per game, shooting 51% from the field and 44% from three-point range. Standing 6-4, he is known for his playmaking abilities and scoring efficiency, making him a valuable addition to Kentucky’s backcourt.
3. Treysen Eaglestaff (Guard, North Dakota): A 6-6 junior, Eaglestaff averaged 18.9 points per game, with a 41.6% field goal percentage and 35.9% from three-point range. He is recognized for his scoring prowess, including a 51-point game against South Dakota State, and is considered a top target for Kentucky.
Securing commitments from these players would significantly bolster Kentucky’s lineup, providing experienced scoring options and enhancing the team’s overall competitiveness in the upcoming season.
