BREAKING NEWS: Ja Morant Invests $3.6 Million to Open Homeless Youth Shelter in Tennessee

Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant has made headlines off the court with a powerful act of generosity. The NBA point guard has invested $3.6 million to transform a large residential property into a state-of-the-art shelter for homeless youth in Tennessee. The facility, set to open later this year, will provide safe housing, counseling, education support, and job training for young people facing homelessness.

Morant, known for his explosive talent and deep connection to his community, said the idea came from a desire to “give kids a chance to dream beyond survival.” The shelter will feature dorm-style rooms, a recreation center, mental health services, and a mentorship program, many of which Morant plans to be personally involved with.

“Basketball gave me a platform, but helping people—that’s what really matters,” Morant stated during a press conference. Community leaders and youth advocates have praised the initiative, calling it a critical step toward addressing the growing crisis of youth homelessness in the region.

With this bold investment, Morant continues to build a legacy that goes far beyond the basketball court, proving that real champions uplift those around them.
