As of now, there is no official confirmation that former Penn State star Michael Robinson has joined the university’s coaching staff. Robinson, who played quarterback for the Nittany Lions and led them to a Big Ten Championship in 2005, has built a notable career both on and off the field. After his time at Penn State, he transitioned to the NFL, playing as a fullback for the San Francisco 49ers and the Seattle Seahawks, with whom he won Super Bowl XLVIII.
Following his retirement from professional football, Robinson became an analyst for the NFL Network and NBC Sports. In July 2023, he expanded his broadcasting career by joining NBC’s Big Ten coverage as an analyst for the B1G College Countdown show, marking a return to his collegiate roots.
In addition to his broadcasting roles, Robinson has been actively involved in mentoring and supporting young athletes. He founded the Excel to Excellence Foundation, aiming to encourage academic and personal growth among students. His commitment to education and mentorship led to his appointment as the honorary chair of the Penn State Alumni Association’s FastStart program, which assists first-year students from diverse backgrounds in adjusting to university life.
While Robinson maintains strong ties to Penn State through these initiatives, there is no current information indicating that he has taken on a coaching position at the university.
