BREAKING NEWS: Doncaster Rovers Stalwart Rejects New Deal and Joins Relegated EFL CLUB.. full details👇

In a shock development, long-serving Doncaster Rovers defender Tom Anderson has turned down a new contract at the Eco-Power Stadium and agreed terms with recently relegated League Two outfit Port Vale. The 31-year-old centre-back, who made over 200 appearances for Donny since arriving in 2018, leaves the club after six influential seasons, becoming a fan favourite for his consistent performances and leadership.

Anderson, whose deal was set to expire this summer, was offered a one-year extension by Doncaster following their near-miss in the League Two play-offs. However, the experienced defender has opted for a fresh challenge, linking up with a Vale side determined to bounce back to League One at the first time of asking.

Port Vale manager Darren Moore, who previously worked with Anderson at Doncaster, is believed to have played a pivotal role in luring him to Vale Park. Moore described Anderson as a “natural leader and proven winner” as he looks to rebuild his squad following a disappointing 2024/25 campaign.

Rovers have thanked Anderson for his service, with fans taking to social media to wish him well. His departure leaves a significant void in Doncaster’s backline ahead of the 2025/26 season.
