In a major blow to Collingwood’s AFL campaign, star defender and club captain Darcy Moore is expected to miss the Magpies’ upcoming clash, head coach Craig McRae confirmed in a press conference earlier today. The setback comes as concerns grow over Moore’s ongoing fitness and the toll recent injuries have taken on his season.
Moore, known for his elite intercept marking and leadership at the back, reportedly experienced tightness during training this week. While scans have ruled out major structural damage, the club’s medical staff have opted for a cautious approach, ruling him out of the next fixture to avoid aggravating the issue.
“Darcy’s health comes first,” McRae said. “He’s an incredibly important part of our structure, but we want to make sure he’s 100% before he returns. There’s still a long season ahead.”
The absence of Moore will test Collingwood’s depth in defence, especially against a high-scoring opponent.
