Fayetteville, AR — In a powerful display of leadership off the court, Arkansas Razorbacks five-star basketball standout Darius Acuff Jr. has announced a groundbreaking $6.3 million investment to convert a private estate into a state-of-the-art shelter for homeless youth. The shelter, located in downtown Little Rock, will offer transitional housing, educational programs, mental health support, and job training to underserved teens and young adults across Arkansas.
At just 19, Acuff is quickly becoming a rising icon both in basketball and social advocacy. “This is bigger than basketball,” Acuff said in a press conference Saturday. “Every young person deserves safety, support, and a shot at a better life.”
The facility, named Acuff House of Hope, is expected to open in early 2026 and will accommodate up to 50 residents at a time. His efforts have drawn praise from Razorbacks head coach Eric Musselman and Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders, who called the move “an inspiring act of service and vision.”
While Acuff’s star continues to shine on the court, this bold initiative proves his legacy may stretch far beyond the game.
