In a major boost for the Canterbury Bulldogs, star centre Stephen Crichton has officially signed a new four-year contract that will keep him at the club until the end of the 2029 NRL season. The deal, described by insiders as “stunning” in both financial value and long-term vision, reaffirms the Bulldogs’ commitment to building a premiership-contending side around their marquee players.
Crichton, 23, has been a standout performer since joining the Bulldogs from the Penrith Panthers, where he won multiple premierships. His leadership, athleticism, and clutch performances have made him a fan favourite and a cornerstone of the Bulldogs’ rebuild. Reports suggest the new deal includes performance-based incentives, leadership bonuses, and a pathway toward a potential future captaincy role.
“I’m honoured to extend my journey with the Bulldogs,” Crichton said. “We’re building something special here. I believe in the vision and the people around me.”
Head coach Cameron Ciraldo, who previously worked with Crichton at Penrith, welcomed the extension, calling him “a culture-setter and a future leader.”
With Crichton locked in, the Bulldogs have taken a massive step in their long-term plans, sending a clear message: they are serious about success.
