As NASCAR’s summer stretch heats up, Bubba Wallace believes his breakthrough moment is closer than ever. While a trip to victory lane has remained elusive this season, the 23XI Racing driver says all signs point toward a turnaround — especially as he enters the Coca-Cola 600 weekend with renewed confidence.
“I’ve done a lot of work on myself — mentally, physically — to be ready for this job,” Wallace revealed during pre-race interviews. His focus has shifted from just surviving races to truly contending, particularly on intermediate tracks like Charlotte, which he now considers a personal strength. Once known for his short-track comfort, Wallace has steadily adapted to the demands of longer, faster ovals.
Behind the scenes, the 23XI Racing team, co-owned by Denny Hamlin and Michael Jordan, continues to make gains in performance and consistency. Wallace’s improved qualifying efforts, race pace, and confidence have caught the attention of competitors and fans alike.
While a win still sits on the horizon, Wallace insists that his current form reflects progress that goes beyond results alone. “The pieces are clicking,” he said. “We’re close — really close.”
