Birmingham City are reportedly eyeing a summer move for Bournemouth goalkeeper Mark Travers as they prepare for life in League One. Following relegation from the Championship, the Blues are looking to rebuild their squad with a mix of experience and potential, and Travers is seen as a key target to strengthen their goalkeeping department.
The 25-year-old Republic of Ireland international spent part of the 2023/24 season on loan at Stoke City, making a solid impression with a series of commanding performances. However, with his path to first-team football at Bournemouth blocked by Brazilian keeper Neto, Travers may seek a permanent move for regular game time. Birmingham see him as an ideal candidate to bring both quality and leadership to a squad that needs stabilising.
Talks are believed to be in the early stages, but the club is hopeful of striking a deal amid competition from several Championship sides. New manager Chris Davies is reportedly keen on building from the back, and securing a reliable keeper is one of his top priorities. Travers’ Championship experience and shot-stopping ability could prove vital in Birmingham’s promotion push next season.
