Albion Rrahmani, a Kosovo international striker, departed FC Rapid București in August 2024 to join Czech club Sparta Prague for a transfer fee of €5 million. Rrahmani had joined Rapid București in August 2023 from Ballkani for an initial €600,000, making him the most expensive player ever signed from the Kosovo Superleague. He made an immediate impact, scoring 17 goals in his debut season despite an injury that sidelined him for several months.

In the summer of 2024, Scottish club Rangers expressed interest in signing Rrahmani and submitted an official bid. However, Rapid București rejected the offer as it did not meet their valuation of the player. Subsequently, Rapid București accepted a €5 million bid from Sparta Prague, leading to Rrahmani’s transfer to the Czech club.

Rrahmani’s departure was influenced by Rapid București’s need to address managerial instability and underperformance. At the time, the team was experiencing a winless streak, and the club sought to utilize the funds from Rrahmani’s sale to strengthen the squad and improve their competitive standing.
