As USC football gears up for its inaugural Big Ten season, head coach Lincoln Riley is actively seeking talent in the transfer portal to address key roster needs. Here are three top targets that could make an immediate impact:
1. Tacario Davis – CB, Arizona
Standing at 6’4″, Davis is a standout cornerback known for his physicality and tackling prowess. With USC potentially losing all starting members of its 2024 secondary, Davis could step in as a day-one starter, providing much-needed experience and stability to the defensive backfield.
2. LT Overton – DL, Texas A&M
Overton brings size and strength to the defensive line, a critical area for USC as it transitions to the more physically demanding Big Ten. His experience in the SEC positions him well to anchor the Trojans’ defensive front and improve their run defense.
3. Jaylen Henderson – QB, Texas A&M
With limited depth at quarterback, Henderson’s dual-threat capabilities and local roots make him an attractive option. His experience and versatility would provide valuable depth behind projected starter Jayden Maiava and mentor incoming freshman Husan Longstreet.
Securing these transfers would address critical gaps and bolster USC’s competitiveness in the upcoming season.
