JUST IN: Felix Brych, suspended from all sports for controversy and bias against Borussia dortmund.. Full details

As of April 21, 2025, there are  credible reports indicating that German referee Dr. Felix Brych has been suspended from officiating in all sports due to controversy or bias against Borussia Dortmund. Recent information highlights that Brych announced his retirement from active refereeing at the conclusion of the 2024/25 season. He has officiated 351 Bundesliga matches, 101 European competitions, and 57 international games .

In November 2023, during his 344th Bundesliga match between Eintracht Frankfurt and VfB Stuttgart, Brych sustained a knee injury, suspected to be an ACL tear, which forced him to leave the game at halftime . There is no evidence linking this incident to any suspension or allegations of bias.

It’s important to note that a separate incident involving referee Felix Zwayer occurred in December 2021. Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham criticized Zwayer’s officiating after a match against Bayern Munich, referencing Zwayer’s past involvement in a match-fixing scandal . This incident is unrelated to Dr. Felix Brych.

Therefore, any claims about Brych’s suspension due to bias against Borussia Dortmund appear to be unfounded.
