Nick Saban, the legendary former Alabama football coach, has made a profound philanthropic impact on Tuscaloosa through his Nick’s Kids Foundation. Since its inception in 2007, the foundation has donated nearly $15 million to various causes across Alabama and the Southeast .
A significant portion of this generosity is evident in the foundation’s partnership with Habitat for Humanity. Since 2011, Nick and Terry Saban have facilitated the construction of 21 homes for deserving families, each commemorating a milestone in Alabama football history .
Beyond housing, the Sabans have invested in educational and recreational initiatives. The Saban Center, a forthcoming 100,000-square-foot facility, aims to integrate STEM education with the arts, housing the Tuscaloosa Public Library, a hands-on children’s museum, and the Tuscaloosa Children’s Theater .
