The ribbon-cutting ceremony was held earlier today and attended by city officials, company executives, and environmental advocates. The new terminal is designed to accommodate growing passenger numbers while dramatically reducing the environmental footprint of cruise operations in the city.
The state-of-the-art facility features solar panels, energy-efficient systems, and a shore-to-ship power connection that allows docked vessels to turn off their engines and plug into the local power grid.
