The Toronto Maple Leafs have unveiled a new logo celebrating Black excellence as part of their commitment to diversity and inclusion in hockey. This special logo was featured during the team’s annual Black Excellence Game, presented by Rogers, on February 22 at Scotiabank Arena.
The redesigned emblem, inspired by Black culture and history, was created in collaboration with Black artists and community leaders. It symbolizes strength, resilience, and unity while honoring the contributions of Black players and fans to the sport. The event featured pre-game and in-game celebrations highlighting Black excellence, including performances, storytelling, and special recognitions.
As part of their ongoing initiatives, the Maple Leafs continue to support Black-led organizations and grassroots hockey programs to make the sport more inclusive. Players wore special warm-up jerseys featuring the new logo, which were later auctioned to benefit community programs.
