There are no credible reports of a 78-year-old woman and her daughter attempting to jump overboard from the Sky Princess cruise ship.

 

However, a tragic incident did occur on December 21, 2024, involving a 48-year-old female passenger. While the ship was returning to Florida from an eight-day Caribbean voyage, the woman attempted to jump overboard and fell onto a lower deck.

Despite immediate medical attention from the ship’s personnel, she could not be revived. Princess Cruises expressed deep sorrow over the incident and provided counseling services to affected guests and crew members. The cruise line is cooperating with authorities to investigate the circumstances surrounding the event.
