The New York Rangers have recently experienced the departure of key players, leading to significant adjustments within the team. Defenseman Ryan Lindgren was traded to the Colorado Avalanche along with Jimmy Vesey and the rights to unsigned draft pick Hank Kempf in exchange for Juuso Parssinen and Calvin de Haan. Lindgren’s longtime defensive partner, Adam Fox, expressed the difficulty of this transition, stating, “It was obviously tough… Someone I’ve played with my whole career and knew from before. He clearly is doing well there.”
Additionally, forward Sam Carrick has stepped away from the team due to personal reasons. The Rangers announced his absence during a recent practice session, though specific details remain undisclosed.
In another notable move, the Rangers traded forward J.T. Miller back to New York from the Vancouver Canucks. Miller, who previously played for the Rangers, returned along with Erik Brännström and Jackson Dorrington in exchange for Filip Chytil, Victor Mancini, and a 2025 first-round pick. Despite a reported rift with Canucks teammate Elias Pettersson, Miller expressed gratitude for his time in Vancouver and remains focused on contributing to the Rangers’ success.
These roster changes reflect the dynamic nature of the NHL and the Rangers’ ongoing efforts to build a competitive team.
