FLASH NEWS: Two NASCAR teams not returning after competing at ATLANTA DUE TO..

In a significant shake-up within NASCAR, two prominent teams have announced they will not return after the recent Atlanta race. Stewart-Haas Racing, a two-time championship team with 69 Cup Series victories since its 2009 formation, will close its organization at the end of the 2024 season. Co-owners Tony Stewart and Gene Haas cited the demanding nature of the sport and personal considerations as reasons for their decision. This move affects nearly 300 employees and leaves drivers Josh Berry, Chase Briscoe, Noah Gragson, and Ryan Preece seeking new opportunities.

Additionally, 23XI Racing, co-owned by NBA legend Michael Jordan and Denny Hamlin, along with Front Row Motorsports, have been embroiled in a legal battle against NASCAR. The teams filed an antitrust lawsuit, alleging that NASCAR’s charter system restricts competition and revenue growth. A recent ruling by U.S. District Judge Kenneth Bell granted these teams key slots in the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series as chartered members, ensuring their participation while the lawsuit proceeds.

These developments underscore the evolving dynamics within NASCAR, highlighting challenges related to team sustainability and governance.
