LATEST REPORT: Phil Gould calls out Ivan Cleary over controversial move for Panthers’ NRL opener in Las VEGAS.. READ MORE..

As the Penrith Panthers prepare for their NRL season opener in Las Vegas, coach Ivan Cleary has expressed concerns about the team’s limited pre-season preparation. Reflecting on challenges faced in the previous year, Cleary highlighted the need for effective management of travel, preparation, and recovery to ensure optimal performance.

In light of these concerns, veteran players like Sea Eagles captain Daly Cherry-Evans have offered advice to the traveling teams, emphasizing the importance of securing victories to avoid a difficult return journey. Cherry-Evans noted that teams that lost in similar circumstances last year struggled throughout the season, underscoring the significance of early wins.

The Panthers are set to face the Cronulla Sharks at Allegiant Stadium on March 2. While key players Brian To’o and Liam Henry are sidelined due to injuries, star halfback Nathan Cleary is expected to return following shoulder surgery. The team aims to overcome these challenges and start their season on a positive note.

Despite previous reports of tension between Phil Gould and Ivan Cleary, both have publicly denied any rift, emphasizing their professional relationship and mutual respect. Gould’s departure from the Panthers in 2019 was attributed to structural changes within the club, and both parties have maintained that there was no personal conflict influencing that decision.
