The Toronto Maple Leafs have acquired veteran forward Scott Laughton from the Philadelphia Flyers. In return, the Flyers received forward prospect Nikita Grebenkin and a top-10 protected first-round pick in the 2027 NHL Draft. Additionally, the Flyers are retaining 50% of Laughton’s remaining contract.

Laughton, 30, has spent his entire 12-season NHL career with the Flyers, amassing 265 points (106 goals, 159 assists) over 661 games. This season, he has recorded 27 points (11 goals, 16 assists) in 60 games. Known for his two-way play and leadership, Laughton brings valuable depth to the Maple Leafs’ center position as they aim for a deep playoff run.

Grebenkin, 21, is a Russian forward who debuted with the Maple Leafs this season, playing seven games without registering a point. In 39 games with the AHL’s Toronto Marlies, he has tallied nine goals and 12 assists. The Flyers also received a conditional first-round pick in the 2027 NHL Draft, which is top-10 protected.

This trade underscores the Maple Leafs’ commitment to bolstering their roster for a strong postseason showing, addressing their need for experienced center depth.
