The University of Alabama has announced plans to honor legendary football coach Nick Saban with a second statue, complementing the existing bronze statue unveiled in 2011. This new statue will be strategically placed at the entrance of Bryant-Denny Stadium, enhancing the Walk of Champions and serving as a tribute to Saban’s monumental impact on the university’s football program.
Coach Saban’s tenure at Alabama is marked by exceptional achievements, including six national championships and nine Southeastern Conference (SEC) titles. His leadership transformed the Crimson Tide into a dominant force in college football, fostering a culture of excellence both on and off the field.
The unveiling of the new statue is scheduled for April 16, 2025, coinciding with the university’s A-Day spring football game. This event will provide fans and alumni an opportunity to celebrate Saban’s legacy and reflect on the enduring success of Alabama football under his guidance.
This initiative underscores the university’s commitment to preserving its rich football heritage and recognizing individuals who have profoundly influenced its history. The addition of the statue ensures that Coach Saban’s contributions will be commemorated for generations to come.
