BREAKING: Michigan Football picks up a commitment from one of their top targets…

The Michigan Wolverines have secured a major recruiting win, landing a commitment from one of their top targets in the 2025 class. Four-star linebacker Jaylen Matthews, a highly sought-after prospect out of Georgia, announced his pledge to Michigan on Wednesday, giving head coach Sherrone Moore a significant boost in his first full recruiting cycle.

Matthews, ranked among the top 10 linebackers in the country, chose the Wolverines over offers from Alabama, Georgia, and Ohio State. Known for his explosive speed, physicality, and football IQ, Matthews is expected to be a cornerstone of Michigan’s defensive future. At 6-foot-2 and 220 pounds, he brings the kind of sideline-to-sideline range and versatility that fits perfectly in Michigan’s evolving defensive scheme.

“Michigan felt like home,” Matthews said in his commitment post. “The coaches believed in me from day one, and I know I can thrive both on and off the field in Ann Arbor.”

This commitment marks a significant moment for Michigan’s 2025 recruiting class, which now ranks in the top 10 nationally. With momentum building and key visits on the horizon, Michigan’s recruiting under Moore appears to be gaining serious traction heading into the summer.
