Georgia Amoore, the dynamic point guard for the University of Kentucky women’s basketball team, has been named a finalist for the prestigious Nancy Lieberman Point Guard of the Year Award. Throughout the 2024-25 season, Amoore has been a standout performer, leading the nation with an impressive 7.5 assists per game over 21 games. Her contributions have been instrumental in propelling the Wildcats to a remarkable 19-2 overall record, including an 8-1 mark in the Southeastern Conference (SEC). Notably, Amoore’s assist average is on pace to break a school record that has stood for over four decades.

 

Amoore’s scoring prowess was on full display during a recent game against No. 13 Oklahoma, where she tied the school record with a 43-point performance, showcasing her ability to excel under pressure. Her consistent excellence has earned her multiple accolades, including the Naismith Trophy National Player of the Week and SEC Player of the Week honors.
