
In a monumental announcement shaking up the world of hockey, the Vancouver Canucks have unveiled plans for a $1.3 billion renovation to Rogers Arena, aiming to transform the iconic venue into a cutting-edge hub not just for the NHL, but also for college ice hockey. The ambitious project is set to modernize the stadium from top to bottom, incorporating advanced fan experiences, sustainable technologies, and new spaces dedicated to developing young talent.
Scheduled to begin construction in late 2025, the renovation will include a fully redesigned lower bowl, immersive LED displays, an upgraded training facility, expanded seating capacity, and an entire wing dedicated to hosting college tournaments and youth development programs. The Canucks organization has partnered with local universities and Hockey Canada to bring national-level college ice hockey events to Vancouverāmarking a historic crossover between professional and collegiate-level support.
