Chase Elliott and the No. 9 team are steadily building momentum as the NASCAR season progresses, stringing together consistent finishes and accumulating valuable points each week. After a rocky start to the season, the Hendrick Motorsports driver has found his rhythm, bringing the No. 9 Chevrolet into contention regularly. The team’s performance has improved across a range of tracks—short tracks, intermediates, and even road courses—signaling a balanced and adaptable approach that could pay dividends deep into the playoffs.

Crew chief Alan Gustafson credits the recent success to improved communication, execution, and a sharpened focus on fundamentals. “We’re not trying to hit home runs every week,” Gustafson said. “We’re focused on being smart, maximizing what we’ve got, and putting ourselves in position to contend. The wins will come if we keep building like this.”

That patience and consistency are starting to show results. With several top-10 and top-5 finishes over the past month, Elliott is climbing the standings and reasserting himself as a championship-caliber driver. While the team has yet to visit Victory Lane this season, their steady upward trend suggests it’s only a matter of time. Momentum, after all, is often the deciding factor when the playoffs roll around.
