In a major announcement shaking up the NASCAR world, Bubba Wallace Racing revealed this morning that Kyle Busch will retire from full-time NASCAR Cup Series competition at the end of the 2025 season. The two-time Cup Series champion isn’t stepping away from the sport entirely, however — he’ll transition to the NASCAR Xfinity Series in 2026, running full-time with Bubba Wallace Racing.
Busch, 40, has had a storied career, accumulating over 60 Cup Series wins and more than 100 in the Xfinity Series, making him the all-time wins leader in NASCAR’s second-tier division. His move to Xfinity marks a full-circle moment and signals a shift in priorities as he transitions into a mentorship and leadership role while still chasing victories.
Bubba Wallace, team owner, called Busch’s addition a “monumental step” for the growing organization. “Kyle brings experience, drive, and unmatched talent. He’s not done winning,” Wallace stated.
Busch expressed excitement for the next chapter: “I’m not hanging up the helmet — just changing gears. I want to build something special with Bubba and help shape the future of racing.”
The 2026 Xfinity season just became must-watch.
