2026 4 ⭐️ TE Matt Ludwig has committed to Michigan over Texas Tech, Georgia & Notre Dame…
Michigan has landed a major addition to its 2026 recruiting class with the commitment of four-star tight end Matt Ludwig. The 6-foot-5, 230-pound standout from St. Louis, Missouri, chose the Wolverines over strong interest from Texas Tech, Georgia, and Notre Dame.
Ludwig, ranked among the top tight ends nationally in the 2026 cycle, brings a rare combination of size, athleticism, and pass-catching ability. He’s known for his fluid route-running, reliable hands, and physicality in the run game — traits that fit perfectly into Michigan’s pro-style offense. His commitment signals continued success for new head coach Sherrone Moore on the recruiting trail.
“Michigan felt like home from the start,” Ludwig said. “The coaching staff made me a priority, and I believe in their vision for the program and how they plan to use tight ends.”
The Wolverines have a strong tradition of developing NFL-caliber tight ends, a factor that played heavily into Ludwig’s decision. With his frame and upside, he could be a future centerpiece of Michigan’s offense and a mismatch nightmare for opposing defenses.
Ludwig becomes one of the headliners in Michigan’s 2026 class, which continues to build momentum as the Wolverines aim to remain a powerhouse in the Big Ten and nationally
