The 2025 Victorian Wheelchair Football League (VWFL) season is set to commence on Friday, May 16, with Richmond Tigers beginning their campaign against Hawthorn at the State Netball and Hockey Centre. Richmond, aiming for their fourth premiership, has been a dominant force, appearing in five of the past six VWFL Grand Finals and securing consecutive Robert Rose Premiership Cups.

 

A highlight of the upcoming season is the Grand Final rematch between Richmond and Collingwood, scheduled for Round 3 on Saturday, June 1, at the State Netball and Hockey Centre. In their previous encounter, Richmond triumphed with a 23-point victory, led by captain Teisha Shadwell.

 

The VWFL’s 2025 fixture includes 10 rounds followed by a three-week finals series. Most matches will be held at the State Netball and Hockey Centre, with only two games at alternate venues.

 

Fans can support Richmond’s VWFL team by becoming members, with proceeds aiding player equipment, travel, and related expenses.
